Pin Game Strong was born on the day my wife and I (Greg) found out that we were pregnant with our soon-to-be daughter, Ruby, fittingly on Father’s Day of 2016. I had been making pins for our own brand (Miles to Go) when friends had begun to ask for help after seeing the quality and variety of pins that we had made. With a new responsibility on our hands as a family and seeing that there was a lack of guidance and trust in making pins, we decided to start a business to save up some money for our daughter’s college fund.
My background has always been in creating. A musician in my youth, I slept on floors in a punk band, went to college as a jazz performance major (still playing punk music in my spare time) and then became an art major where I found my outlet for creativity. My first business, Miles to Go Belts, began in 2001 when our band was touring the country making very little money. I was the only one who did not live with their parents and had bills to pay, so I created a way to make belt buckles with our band’s logo to sell. That spun into a full-fledged business making belts for other businesses and bands like Fall Out Boy, Johnny Cupcakes and Dominos Pizza.
In 2007, looking for a personal creative outlet, I started a clothing line called Miles to Go where I took my love of reading and collaborated with artists that we commissioned to create art inspired from classic literature. One of my favorite pieces of running this business was to take different creations and keep them aligned with the Miles to Go branding and vision of “art first” with no logos on the art itself. Creating that business really taught me how to cohesively build a brand and see the vision of a final product from artwork and how to translate that artwork into multiple mediums. We ended up selling all over the world and were carried by hundreds of indie book stores across the country.
Once PGS began, I quickly found that it was the perfect marriage of everything I loved doing and it has taken over for our little family. I get real joy out of helping people create products from their artwork, along with our entire team priding themselves on caring about the art, finding creative solutions and making the best product we can for our clients. We want to make it look better than you had imagined while providing ease in the process of creating your products. Over 2 million pins later, we continue to love what we do and truly enjoy helping everyone bring their ideas to fruition. Our goal is to help you make better pins, patches, stickers and more.
